Committees




The Teacher Bargaining Unit has 11 standing committees, plus several ad-hoc committees that members can join depending on your interests. Each school (or branch) is allocated one voting member per standing committee and members are elected by their co-workers at their branch. Committees typically meet 5-6 times per year.

As the union that represents secondary teachers and education workers in Ontario, OSSTF bargains collective agreements with the Crown and the Ontario Public School Boards Association. OSSTF District 19 negotiates local agreements on behalf of secondary teachers with the Peel District School Board.
